What you’ll be doing

As a Fleet Engineer - Structures, you will be responsible for ensuring the continued airworthiness of our fleet by managing effective configuration control of aircraft and components. You will also drive the development and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to boost aircraft technical dispatch reliability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess Airworthiness Directives (mandatory) to ensure compliance with CASR 42.120
  • Evaluate non-mandatory Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA) according to CASR 42.130.
  • Initiate, assess and manage aircraft modifications & repairs to meet regulatory standards
  • Lead engineering investigations into reportable aircraft defects to ensure timely resolution and compliance.


The position is based at the Brisbane Hanger. You will work closely with the Engineering and Maintenance Operations Group, directly reporting to the Fleet Structures Leader.


You’ll be great in this role if you have…

  • Held a CASR P21m Instrument of Appointment (IOA) in a Structures Discipline as issued under CASR 201.001 and or experience working within an approved design organisation
  • Extensive Structural Repair & modification experience
  • Relevant qualifications in Aviation Engineering (Aeronautical or Mechanical) – Diploma, Graduate, or Post Graduate level or holding or having held an aircraft engineer license in any category (B1, B2, or C), with substantial aircraft structures experience; orA Certificate IV qualification in aircraft maintenance, specializing in Structures, Composite, or Aircraft Painting; orA diploma-level qualification in aviation maintenance management; or 5 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in a technical support or leadership role within a structures-based discipline


Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of aircraft structure, airworthiness, classification, design, modification, and repair standards
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations governing aircraft maintenance programs and reliability programs
  • Familiarity with maintenance requirements outlined in instructions for continuing airworthiness
  • Understanding of the specifications and standards used by the type certificate holder for developing maintenance requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the aircraft certification basis, as well as the structure and systems (including propulsion) for the aircraft/engine type operated by the airlines
  • Technical comprehension of Boeing 7XX series aircraft and the “My Boeing Fleet” web portal
